Laura Lee (Dolly) Swisher PT, PhD, professor and coordinator of Professional Education for the USF Health School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences, was recently elected a fellow in the National Academies of Practice (NAP) and a Distinguished Practitioner and Fellow in the Physical Therapy Academy within NAP.
The Distinguished Practitioner and Fellow designation is based on achievements and being recognized as a leader in their profession.
Dr. Swisher will be inducted at the NAP annual meeting held in April in Alexandria, VA.
Founded in 1981, NAP advises governmental bodies and agencies on health care system issues.
The group includes Academies representing 14 interdisciplinary specialties: audiology, dentistry, medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, optometry, osteopathic medicine, pharmacy, physical therapy, podiatric medicine, psychology, social work, speech and language pathology, and veterinary medicine.
