Basil S. Cherpelis, MD, associate professor and chief of dermatologic surgery at USF Health Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery, was elected president of the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgeons (FSDS) at the group’s annual meeting held in October in Palm Beach, FL.
Dr. Basil S. Cherpelis, who specializes in Mohs surgery, an advanced procedure for skin cancer removal, will begin his one-year term immediately.
FSDS was formed in 1981 and aims to promote the quality of dermatologic surgery, to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and methodology for dermatologic surgery and related basic sciences, and to recognize physicians who have become proficient in dermatologic surgery.
